Are you suggesting to me, that the edited guide is not supposed to be taken very seriously, because it can be edited after an entry has been nominated? I've only been here a while, so I don't really know.
If that is the case, then I shall no longer differentiate between edited or non-edited entries, and shan't bother you more about it.

No, the complete opposite. Anyone can edit any wiki article to say whatever they want. With the Guide, a writer submits a piece for review and others can point out inaccuracies. In the case of this Entry, over a period of three weeks Researchers gave their opinions and it was much edited. *Every* reference was independently verified before it was finally submitted to the H2G2 Editors for their approval.
I can assure you, this piece was extensively researched because I knew there would be objections.
I suggest you spend some time familiarising yourself with the Editorial process at H2G2.

I thought that once our entries had gone into the edited guide, the author could no longer edit them without contacting the h2g2Editors. I appreciate that the edited guide is more elaborate and reliable , but if we can edit it to what we like after the peer review, then we could make it biased. I suppose anybody can challenge it, but some researchers then disappear offline for years ...
Regards the wikipedia, it seems quite reliable to me. I'm not involved with the project, but I understand that anybody who interferes with articles unreasonably, won't last very long. They will no longer have write access to any of it.

<> Correct
<> Wikipedia is notoriously unreliable. No academic body will accept a reference to Wiki as reliable.

Oh, I was right, then. I will have to think about contacting the h2g2Editors in that case. No rush, but I really don't agree with your article and it's biased viewpoint.
"two events occurred which have dogged Islam ever since"
As I say, a minority world opinion that obviously does not reflect the opinion of Muslims.
If your facts were right, then I would NOT be a Muslim, as well as a Christian etc.

Please feel free. Don't forget to mention that you're a Christian and a Muslim etc. It sorta doubles the gravitas.
