It's interesting to speculate on how long Anne Frank would have lasted if she'd had a PC and an Internet connection in the attic...would the Germans have got to her sooner? Would her diary just be considered another ephemeral unnatributable blog? Would (in fact) news of the genocide have reached the Allies sooner if Internet had been up and running in the 1940's? Would it have made spying against the Nazis easier - look at how this "Ali Pax" blogger got indiscreet observations out of Iraq from under the noses of Saddam Hussein, and how the Chinese are currently struggling to combat free candid speech on the Internet.
