A Conversation for Being a Blood Donor in the UK

This is a very good entry I do hope it encourages those that can to donate blood.
I have in the past given blood quite a number of times.
I do feel however that some of the negative aspects need to be aired.
The age aspect is not too clear. If you are regularly giving blood you can continue over age 60, if however you haven't done so for a few years and try to attend you can be sent away with a 'flea in your ear'.
Also certain prescription drugs can rule you out from donating, the way you are turned away from the centre as though you are wasting their time can be unpleasant.
Afterwards as you hear the adverts for blood donors that are urgently needed (but not yours) is also unpleasant.
Key: Complain about this post
