Do we know yet whether Let it Be the film will be released on DVD? I've never seen it, and as a result it for me is the Holy Grail

It was supposed to be due out by now - but the release date keeps moving back... It should be out within the next few months, so its a case of watch this space.

I saw it when I was a puppy. The Harrison walkout was brill. And Yoko sitting there like a spider in the background most of the time.

I agree, this was a terrific entry! Lots of things are coming back to haunt Phil Spector right now.

Every now and then news about this release keeps popping up in newsgroups, there's even a quite detailed account what's on it (it was mouthwatering; the idea of the rooftop-concert in remastered DTS or 5.1 alone is enough to get me very happy), but it's never official; it's always someone who knows someone else at EMI...
So don't hold your breath!
Greetings,
W.

There are (quite unfounded) rumours of a september-release..it's from the Anthology-director, but nobody at EMI is confirming it. The details are even more mouthwatering; the complete rooftop concert, unseen footage, restored audio, 3 discs!
So still don't hold your breath!

This is starting to sound like a monologue here...are you reading this or am I talking to myself?
Anyway the Let-It_be-DVD-realease for next month gets a mention in the Mojo-music-magazine...again; no mentions of any sources, but a few more details.

It was definitely scheduled for this year until the 50th anniversary got rolling and coincided with two new books on the early days. So, as a result, it's volume 2 of the BBC sessions instead. Supposedly, 'Let It Be' HAS to be the next project now as everything else has been restored, re-released, re-restored, re-re-released. The main delay has been put down to the controversy over the split as it was made but it's been much more complex than that as the film wasn't owned by either EMI or Apple but by United Artists and also had the involvement of the dreaded Allen Klein. Michael Lindsay Hogg said in 2010 that all of the legal stuff was now sorted and that he'd seen a prototype packaging of it all and was well-pleased. Hopefully it's going to be a thoroughly ultimate version that finally arrives...

sometime. But yes, breath-holding not recommended.
