I was under the impression that Elton John did not actually write most of the songs he performs. That I believe is Bernie Taupin. As far as music goes Elton may do much of that but Bernie Does write most of the lyrics...I think

Elton wrote ALL of his music.
Bernie Taupin wrote ALL of the words.
Period.
Except for the The Lion King and Ayda and stuff where Tim Rice did the lyrics.
