Laptops have fewer lights. There are no monitor lights, to start with. There's no num. lock. Whilst there is a scroll lock, as it's only a fourth function of another key, the chances of using it are minimal.
So to save on your light usage, use a laptop!

*looks at laptop*
1 x power light
2 x battery condition lights
1 x HDD light
1 x num lock light
1 x caps lock light
1 x scroll lock light
1 x 802.11x light (ok, ok it's on a PCMCIA card, but that's not the point)
1 x stonking great back-lit TFT screen.
2 x lights on the network port.
Plenty of lights all round
Liam.
