I researched this some years ago.
I remember reading flight manuals about this aircraft.
The motors overheated on takeoff at moderate payloads.
Engine cowl baffles opened to cool motors meant long takeoff runs and often serious consequences.
Or was that another aircraft?

yep yep! i suppose the only good thing that might be said of the b-29s were that (when they were not too busy overheating or crashing!) they were capable of carrying a *really* bad*ss payload...

Yes, Farlander. This plane was responsible for the killing of tens of thousands of men, women, and children. The God of War must have been roaring at such slaughter. I know we had little choice in the matter because we also were caught up in the madness.
