A Conversation for WYSIWYG
Xerox PARC?
Uncle Ghengis Started conversation Aug 27, 2003
I was under the impression that the idea for WYSIWYG (along with many other revolutionary ideas in computing) came from Xerox PARC.
Xerox began a visionary project for a paperless office at their Palo Alto Research Centre (hence "Xerox PARC")
Unfortunately, after developing some brilliant concepts - including the first true GUI environment and an early office network, some executive decided that all this nonsense was a bad idea for a company normally known for photcopiers and closed down the whole project.
