I bought the BBC tapes for the first series in Oxofrd some time ago, and recently found tapes for the third
series in Inverness. I have not come across the tapes for the second series.

Does anyone know where I can get them?

Hi Bob, All three series are avaible thro' the BBC radio collection. Send a s.a.e. to Room A3132, BBC Worldwide, Woodlands, 80 Wood Lane, London W12 OTT to get a catalogue. OR to order by phone call Video Plus Direct on 0181 576 2236. I think the second series 'The Red Planet is numbered ZBBC 2164 or ISBN0563 557575. Check those No's though. HI

I'm looking for the theme tune from Journey Into Space. I know that it was composed by Van Phillips using music and sounds effects from a variety of places.

Can anyone help?

Hi theresmiley - smiley
I've re-run some of the early episodes of the first series but I'm afraid that there isn't a theme tune as such, at least, not one that is evident.
Most of the music is/was sound effects, 'atmospheric space music' of the incidental kind, or the dramatic 'fanfare type' preceding a prgnant pause, but there isn't anything there that you could whistle.
Having now listened to that I've got an urge to follow through with the other two series. I'll get back if anything else crops up in them.
All the best
DK
