In American radio series we had Buck Rogers (debuted 1932), Flash Gordon (1935), and Tom Corbett, Space Cadet (1952) and perhaps others that I don't know of. Science fiction was often hard to find but it was usually entertaining, if nothing else

Hi Stephen P. Thanks for the info. I didn't know that these had been radio shows in America that early, but I remember well the cinema serials of Flash Gordon of which I think I saw all of them and I know they dated from the thirties. Buck Rogers & Tom Corbett I didn't although I think a serial of Buck Rogers was also done. You learn something new every day on h2g2. Thanks again & Best Wishes A.M.
