Although mildly amusing, this article doesnt really tackle the modern spin (no pun intended) on deejaying which is all the rage right now, ie the DJ as a performance and composition musician...the works of people like DJ Logic, DJ Spooky, DJ shadow, etc who are recognized by many versatile instrumentalists as coleagues (Spooky just played the bell atlantic jazz fest in NYC, Logic constantly plays with improvisational pop bands, as well as the jazz trio Medeski Martin and Wood, etc) as well as numerous techno DJ's who truly do on spot composition, should not be overlooked especially as the sampling, scrathcing, looping, etc are taking a major place in many more convetional music forms from jazz to heavy metal to modern classical...
peace,
ajay

I agree, it's well written but it seems a tad outdated. I'm writing two guides right now, one about the Technics 1200s and one about turntablism. Check 'em out when I'm done\you get a chance.
