A Conversation for Disc Jockeys (DJs)
DJ's .v. MC's
Pothead Pixie Started conversation Jan 2, 2002
I kind of thought in this mordern era of Garage and House music that there was rather a big difference between a DJ and an MC.
DJ - Mixes songs with decks and a mixer.
MC - Add extra vocals to tracks (ussally a sort of rap style dependant of what is being MC'd to).
A lot of good DJ's adjust around the MC that works with them and visa versa.
for example DJ Luck and MC Neat.
DJ Ez and MC Sparks.
Also
MC = Masters of the Ceromony
or
MC = Microphone Controller
There seems to be a bit of a ? over the meaning of MC.
Some mordern groups are collections of DJ's and MC's
Like the So Solid Crew for example.
