At this risk of nit-picking, The Band may have come out of Aylesbury, and a very fine town I am sure it is, but Fish is very much a Scot and I find the suggestion that he too came out of Aylesbury as rather sad.

Only one member of the band actually hails from Aylesbury, and that is Bassist Pete Trewavas. As noted Fish comes from Scotland (East Lothian to be precise) where he returned in 1988 after leaving the band.
Keyboard (and these days programming and samples) player Mark Kelly is from Dublin, Guitarist Steve Rothery is from Yorkshire.
Not sure where H is from(is it the south...Brighton way??) and no idea about Ian Moseley (who I bumped into at a Peter Gabriel concert in 1993...literally!!).
Any answers out there?

The original founding member of Silmarillion was Mick Pointer who hailed from the vicinity of Tring - not too far from Aylesbury - and earliest gigs were in that area so that's probably where the Aylesbury badge originated. Mick is now doing splendid things with Arena http://www.verglas.com.
Marillion continue to make music of the highest calibre (maybe a bit shaky IMHO in the TSE phase) but with a solid fan base almost as fanatical as Mac users - does it show then?
Don't just write them off as Genesis wannabes, they are far above that and deserve serious listening. You may even like them! Go and get some samples at http://www.marillion.com
