All this strange spelling of Gaelic is result of the idiotic Brittish understanding of spelling. And not least, I think the British occupants of Scotland and Ireland (as well as Wales) wanted to make written Gaelic impossible to learn. And ridicoulous (how to spell that?). If anglophones have such a terrible system of writing, then you do not have any right to say anything about others writing, spelling and pronounciation.

What? English is recognised as the second easiest major language to learn after Spanish. It is also the best language for making puns. But it is not the fault of the British that "Dunlaoghaire" in pronounced "Dunleery"
