Polite Queueing for expat Englishman in Mexico

Being born and raised in England the concept of queueing is natural to me. While living in Mexico, I realised that the process was different - bit similar (sorry for the contradictory laguage).
While standing around waiting for something the Englishman would find a spot directly behind the last person in line. The English line is organised with a head and a tail. The latin-line is more of a bunch. The head of the bunch being the first person there. The next in line would be within the general area, and the others similarly displaced. During the wait, the pecking order would be established. Through polite social interaction and respect for order - first come shall be first served.
