Michigan has seen one business after another leaving for other parts of the world. On 31 Aug 2005 the AP did an article including the following information:
Michigan's seasonally adjusted rate of unemployment was 7 percent for July-the highest in the nation.
Detroit had 33.6 percent of its citizens in poverty (Census Bureau figures) The article goes on to quote a spokesman for the
Michigan G.O.P.(Mike Bailey)as saying "We are leading the nation in unemployment, we are leading the nation in jobs lost, and our largest city is last in personal income." Of course he would like to blame this on our Democratic Governor-not the Republican President.
