You forgot the most important uses!
Place it over your head to escape a ravenous blatter from trall, a creature so incradibly stupid it thinks if you can't see it it can't see you.

Also you can soak it in minerals and suck on it for nutriants when there is a lack of food, but you should also soak it in antidepressents to suck on after eating the minerals.
