The world's favourite watering holes
Created | Updated Jan 28, 2002
Everyone likes to drink, and we're not talking about water. In fact, some people like drinking so much that they wake up in the morning wishing that we were talking about water, but we don't want to dwell on the negative aspects of drinking, OK?
But it's not just the drinks that matter, it's the environment. People feel very strongly about their favourite pubs, clubs, bars and bottle shops, and here's your chance to sound off about why your local watering hole is the best on the planet.
So tell us where your top spot is, what the best drinks are, and why you prefer it to anywhere else. As ever we'll compile the most coherent suggestions into one big official entry that will prove invaluable to globe-staggering drinkers everywhere.
Here's a starter for ten.
The Whey Pat Tavern, St. Andrews, Fife, ScotlandThis is an absolutely brilliant
place. You can sit and get quietly (or noisily) drunk without any
disturbances. They have a fine range of real ales, nice sandwiches at lunch
time, polite bar staff and they even have a dart board.
