A Conversation for Springfield, Missouri, USA

Pretty spot-on

Jessie, queen of the strange - Nirvana rocks my socks!

Hm. I lived in Springfield for 5 years (my family moved when I was nearly 10), and I think you're right on several issues, except one - the churches. Admittedly, I was rather young, and my family is atheist, but I don't remember a lot of churches, or churchgoers. But I do remember the Bass Pro shops. I used to go there, and the guy behind the counter would always give me a few foul-smelling worm things. And I was deathly afraid of a stuffed bear near the entrance - I had to cover my eyes every time I walked past it.

Also, my father taught English at SMSU. It was an awesome campus, I remember walking past a big fountain out in the courtyard. Many happy memories of sitting on the edge of that fountain.

And the Chinese restaurants are awesome.
