Eddie's in the space time continuum and it's time he got out.

This was an excellent article, I am will be on enjoying it any day ago, but it is willan on being a bit Trek-centric. There should have will being at least one mention of some of the time thingies from the Guide! smiley - towelsmiley - ok

This article made me think of the campaign for real time (CaRT?) from Mostly Harmless, too.

"Anything that happens, happens."

"Anything that, in happening, causes something else to happen, causes something else to happen"

"Anything that, in happening, causes itself to happen again, causes itself to happen again"

"It doesn't necessarily do it in chronological oreder, though"

Pure smiley - magic from Douglas Adams.

Speaking as a cat that exists only in a state of indeterminate limbo, Eddie has my symapthy. Count me in, Count smiley - smiley

The shortened version is CamTim and it's introduced in Life, the Universe and Everything.

"The trouble is that a lot of history is now quite clearly bunk as well."

It all started because of what happened (or will happen, depending on which direction you're looking) to the poet Lallafa. Lallafa wrote what are considered to be the universe's most beautiful poems 'Songs of the Long Land'. He lived in the forests of the Long Lands of Effa and wrote them on tree bark. Long after his death a correction fluid company thought they would go back in time and give him some correction fluid, (and lots of money for his endorsements of course) and see if it mightn't improve his poetry even further. Of course with the riches they gave him the girl he had longed for, and then wrote such beautiful poetry about, never left and so he never wrote the 'Songs of the Long Land'. The correction fluid company of course fixed this by giving him a later copy of his poetry and had him transcribe it but of course even though the poems were exactly the same many people now consider them to be worthless.

CamTim's case was supported further when the news about the Cathedral of Chalesm was reported. The Cathedral was torn down to make way for a new ion refinery. The completion of the refinery was delayed so much that they had to begin construction of it before the Cathedral was built in the first place and so it has been erased from history.

Because of all this temporal erosion, different eras are becomeing more and more homogenous. As we campaigners say, "The past is now truly like a foreign country. They do things exactly the same there."

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
