I recently tried the Post Offices efficency. I sent a letter to my brother in Salford with just the Number of his house and the postcode.
It arrived 2 days later. Well done.

congrat on your bit of the manchester post service working correctly
some letters with the correct road and postcode that are addressed to me end up at at the same numbered house on a different road with a different postcode on the opposite side of Withington.
