First of all, there was the Infinite Improabability Drive, which took the spaceship 'Heart of Gold' to a level of infinite improbability, whereby it passed through every point in the Universe simultaneously. Then in 'Life, the Universe, and Everything,' there is the Bistroamthic Drive Engine, which seems to do all the calculations on a waiter's bill pad.
