What a shower

I bought an ipod off eBay - cost £185 including special delivery
Came home to a card through the door "I had a special delivery for you - but it got stolen out of my bag - please contact the manager"
Rang manager who apologised and told me to fill in a P58, that the postie had been suspended, and apologised.
Got back from my hols to a letter telling me i needed to send an original certificate of posting and would then receive compensation in the amount I paid i.e. NOT what it would cost to replace - (It was new in sealed box but I got it cheaply off ebay)
Two problems - I seem to have been wrongly advised as it looks like the sender should be doing the claiming, and also - why should I lose out cos of this shower? - they LOST an ipod and should replace it with an identical item imho, and if that costs them 40 quid more than I paid for it - tough! Special delivery really isn't very "special" at all
