I used to have a hamster, called Billie (she was a she).
She got up to so many escapades that I started to write a book!
One time, while staying with friends, we brought her and her cage with us. In the morning, she was tucked up asleep 
in her bed, but the cage door was open and the carrots had some tell-tale bite marks on them.
Another time she crawled behind the cooker and started to remove some of the asbestos insulation. The cooker wouldn't work after that
