The funny thing is, I'm not really a terribly big fan of Milton either. I don't think many people are. I do, however, recognize his greatness, and, "Lycidas" really is one of the greatest things ever, anywhere.

The very funny thing is, I don't suspect that Milton would be happy to have "fans": He'd be happier with "new converts", or "disciples".
