How could you miss the most obscure motorway of them all?

I refer to of course the imfamous Walton Summit Motorway at Bamber Bridge. It was at one time a B road connecting to the M61 to the A6 before the M65 flyover was put in at M61 junction 9 during the mid 90s, and for some unknown reason was upgraded to motorway status at that time.
How could you miss the most obscure motorway of them all?
