Linotypes AND Composing Sticks; deja vu!
FordsTowel Started conversation Jun 21, 2003
You're bringing back memories gents. I cut my highschool printing teeth on handset and offset, and my first "real" job was as a printer's devil (apprentice) where I used Linotypes and Ludlows (head setting casters).
It was soon replaced by computer-tape run Linotypes and then paper-film phototypsetting. Finally, we get to write-to-plate pagination. Whatta ride!

Just found two old 14-pica, composing knives in my computer desk drawer, today. Talk about your chronistic contrast! I think I also have a couple of chase keys in my toolbox, if memory serves.
Cheers
