Long Time No See

Apparently, I haven't posted since mid-October.
In a week, I fly to The Gambia, and when I return there will be a Mrs B as well. In principle, this wouldn't take much to organise (get to Gambia, appear on appointed day) but in reality I'm acting as travel agent, tour guide and nonsense-answerer for everyone that's going out there. Today, thanks to a hell of a lot of hard work on my part, I finally have the vaguest idea what's going on. It's amazing how a 'simple idea' can be so much damn work.
Have a great Christmas, all, and hopefully I'll catch up with you around February.

I'm pretty well sorted out - beach cricket set aside, I was mostly packed a couple of days ago. She's still deciding which of her 12 millions tops to take, of course. Thank Bob we went Premium and got 30kg of luggage each. If we hadn't, she'd have nothing but tops and one flouncy skirt, and I'd have nothing but a snappy suit and a load of cricket gear. As it is, we both found space for an iPod and a couple of books.
I'm excited now, but frustrated. It's been only a couple of days until we go for what seems like weeks now, and I'm aching for the sun. For once, there isn't going to be a last-minute rush or panic; I plan to have a bit of a snooze tomorrow evening, saving just enough time to have a glass of bubbly with the family before our taxi arrives at half twelve. From there, it's straight to Gatwick; for some reason, we arrive at 5.30am (well in time for out 7am check in), then we're VIP all the way to The Gambia, where my mate picks us up at the airport and takes us to the hotel just in time for 2-4-1 cocktails. And then...
Ah, then it just becomes brilliant, eh?
Raise a glass to us on the 11th if you remember, and have a great New Year yourselves
