Today I have decided that I hate my job!
I used to really enjoy it, didn't mind working late or being on call 24 hours, but last weekend has really soured me on the whole thing!
I was supposed to work a few hours on Sunday morning only, but I ended up working from 9:30am til 11:00pm on Saturday and 10-2pm and then 7-10pm on Sunday. I then got woken by the on-call phone at 06.30am today! I work 9am til 8 pm most days without a lunch break for the crappiest wages in the world. The only upside is that having this job means that I can live in Portugal and not in the UK! (that's worth a lot of hassle!!)
Now today, the dottery old bleeding guests that I have been babysitting all week have reneged on part of a booking that they asked me to make for them. They gave no notice so my company is being charged 50% of the cost, which is going to come from the commission I have made on the whole booking in the first place. (They're not so dottery when it comes to refusing to pay the cancellation fee!!)So I have worked my ass off for 3 days solid to make some pennies and I'm gonna have to give it all back now! Why do I bother? It's costing me money to work harder!
Now that's off my chest, I have attained my previous like state.

Thanks Bed!
I just got really pissed off cos I wasted the whole time and I'm getting nothing out of it! I'm beginning to think that they are taking the piss out of me in the office, I'm the only one without kids so it's assumed that I can do more hours than the rest of them!
I am calm now and thinking up ways in which I can screw some of this money back from the dottery gits!!!

Screw 'em for all you can, they deserve it
I got a call earlier saying "do you realise it's you turn to w*rk this weekend comming"
Fat chance of that unless I can split myself down the middle
I wouldn't mind I'm off Thursday/Friday to move
I'm off next week to get settled in (and that took a lot of wrangling to get)
So what do they expect me to be doing over the weekend (not w*rking that's for sure)
It looks like they might have a problem covering, do I care?
Hmm
let me think
Not a bit

That sucks Deakie!
Are you thinking of looking for something else? Maybe you and DDD could go into business together? Land Rover dealership? Satelitte dish installation? Or you could just cheat in your pub quiz every week and live off ribs?
Seriously though, you're expected to work stoopidly long hours! I work 9am-9pm on two days of the week and that's bad enough! Will it get any easier not that the summer's nearly over?

I'm not very good at dancing but DDD's got better legs than me anyway! I'll be the manager and choreographer and I'll handle the money

Hmmmm... It's a bit worrying that a large percentage of people posting on here are out of work, or soon will be. Could it be something to do with productivity I wonder.......

I was wondering that myself! I do a lot of hours and I wonder if I could cut them down by about half if I stopped posting on here!
Never gonna happen
