SS met an old colleague today who had been quite ill for a couple of weeks; but was out and about and getting better. He lives alone, in his late 60s and had been in bed for about a week, when he decided to call the Doctor - the response he received was worth a letter to The Times:
"stay in bed as you are; and come and see me when you feel a bit better"
Although we couldn't stop laughing, it was quite frightening - what would have happened if said friend hadn't got a bit better?

It seems that some are getting paid more and more for doing less and less, but then they are not alone in that are they?
