I have an exam at 1630 today. It's the first of four this semester, and is entitled "Algorithms and Data Structures". What joy...

Still, it's got to be better than the upcoming "Database Systems".

I'm interested in nottingham. Is it OK if I ask a few questions (I did the same with the IB if you remember smiley - winkeye)

what were the entry requirements to get into nottingham?

are you glad you chose nottingham?

and does all of the course take place on the new campus?

Sorry I didn't reply earlier, Olli! I'm bad at spotting replies to my journal entries.

My offer was 35 with a 5 in Higher Maths. I was lucky and got away without an interview as well.

> are you glad you chose nottingham?

Yes! Most certainly. Most of the things I complain about are things that are problems at the vast majority of unis these days - like Java. I really, really hate Java, and it's Nottingham's basic language course. However, it's also the basic language course of most Universities with half-decent Computer Science courses, so I'm kind of stuck. But that's just me hating Java really. And I don't have to write my third year project in it! Woohoo!

> and does all of the course take place on the new campus?

Yes. If you do pure Computer Science you get all your lectures on the new campus(Jubilee), and the department's there as well. Living there (Newark or Southwell Halls) is very convenient (apart from the food, which is pretty mass-catering bad as one might expect) - don't live on Raleigh Park, they're still in a big mess, no network cables or anything. Got a huge TV though, by all accounts.

Mixed degrees will get some lectures on University Park, apart from Digital Business, and things like Computer Science with Management, because the Business School is on Jubilee as well. Maths and Computer Science get all the Maths stuff on University Park because that's where Maths is based - so it's kind of as you might expect, really.

Any other questions?
