You can get some very tastefully designed wine casks these days; not shameful at all; more like a fashion accesory.

Any news on the housing front?

It's a terrible pun involving a bathroom fan. One gadget, including heating, light and a fan, you see.

I was going to ask the same thing!

Gawd, these places are huge, you could fit my entire house into the ground floor & i am envied by most 'cos i have an actual house not a flat or bedsit.

You could fit my present house into the living area of the place I really really want. Yes, housing here does tend to the spacious side of things, but we do have a lot of space to spread out in.

Here's the latest. I went and saw the place in the last link I gave; it was very nice indeed. I could be happy in that one, as well as in the one with all the agapanthus. So I lodged an application. They've already been checking my references, which is almost alarming eagerness. As for the place with the agapanthus - I had a phone call late this afternoon to tell me that I am in fact the entire short-list at this stage, and a decision might be made tomorrow. To miss out I'd have to be beaten by someone applying this afternoon, and they'd have to be appallingly saintly with it. So, after a week of searching, it's a race to the finish between the only two places I saw that were worth the effort. I'll take whichever one makes me a firm offer first.

I'm not sure which I'd prefer. Today's place has more garden and it's in a slightly nicer area, but the agapanthus place is in a more convenient location. There's no stairs or steep paths at either place. Either will do. I'll just be glad to end the uncertainty and move on to the actual relocation process.
