I hope there will come some solution to my flat issue this week as well.

Things seem to be going your way now, Ivan! Sure, there are plenty of tasks ahead of you yet; but aren't all of these changes kind of exciting? Anyway, I'm excited for you and I'm anxious to hear which place you're soon going to call your new home!
I thought the agapanthus place looked cosier, the neighbourhood sounded
interesting with all the melting pot culinary offerings at the nearby restaurants and the relatively handy centralised location...
The knobby place(I couln't help but notice all those prominent knobs on the kitchen cupboards and bathroom vanity you saw today!) was quite spacious and the sliding glass doors in the lounge and bedroom were nice. What a lot of area to plot out gardening projects! That wasn't lavender by the shed by any chance, was it?
My, but you've got a busy week looming before you! Please take time to take deep breaths and know that all your friends are keeping you in their thoughts and always wishing you well!
Best of luck with your job interview on Tuesday, too!
Sleep well tonight, okay?

That place you looked at about 16 hours ago seemed nice, if a bit small. Although photos rarely do a place justice, the kitchen looked tiny. How were the bedrooms? Do you enjoy cooking enough for the size of the kitchen to be a big issue?
Hope the viewing went well, Ivan. I've still got all my digits crossed for you!
Seems like a number of my friends are currently looking for new housing arrangements. I hope I won't be stuck doing the same- although we could use more square footage, I wouldn't trade central heat and aircon, the dishwasher, and room in the kitchen for my washer and dryer, for a little more space. I'd like to stay here until we both get our credit reports clear enough to start thinking about *buying* a nice two- or three-flat.
Lots and lots of luck, Ivan. I'm hoping you'll find someplace PERFECT for you!

That kitchen is small, but it's laid out sensibly and it would be easy to w*rk in. I've seen some kitchens that are spacious but otherwise hopeless, designed for aesthetics not practicality. (Or, as my mother would have it, 'designed by a bloke'. She might have a point there.)
There is some lavender on the property, but not as much as here. It's sill at the stage where it can be controlled.
I was hoping to stay here until I could scrape together a deposit on a place of my own, but that idea looks even further off now. Maybe I'll have to wait until I inherit - not that I'm in any rush for that to happen.
And now, it's 6:05am and far too humid to get into the interview clothes yet... There's about two hours before I have to set off. I was going to look at a few notes and references, but I can't concentrate - I'll just have to wing it and hope.

Forgot to mention - the bedrooms were good sizes, with the larger having a glass door out to the rear courtyard. I'd use that as a library, and the smaller room as the actual bedroom.
(Also - kitchens here generally don't have to have room for washers and dryers. It's normal to have a separate laundry.)

Likewise- in fact, it's more common for all of the tenants in a building to share the one separate laundry, or for there to be no laundry on the premises at all. The actual laundry for my building is in the basement, but the landlord is nice enough to let me use my own appliances up here, provided we don't flood the place... it's why I'm so hell-bent against moving. I do hope my landlords stay nice and don't get any weird ideas, or wayward nieces. It really sucks carting your laundry to the laundromat when it's 30 below and there's a foot or two (or more) of snow on the ground.
I'm sorry that you weren't able to stick to your plan to stay put until you could get that down payment together. I totally understand how frustrating things like this can be.
Good luck with the interview!! Can't wait to hear how it went!
Cool that this place (the last one) had a workable kitchen and decent sized bedrooms. A person can compensate for smallish-to-mediumish living room if the bedrooms are roomy enough! Especially if one has a lot of books requiring space for shelving!

There have been a few listings of places that are nice and spacious and convenient and affordable - but they have communal laundries, and that was enough to put them off my list. I'm glad that situation is the exception rather than the rule here.

I'd be using the bedroom with the doors outside as a bedroom
One of my greatest joys in life is lying in bed as the sun comes up, gazing outside at the trees and birds
It's like camping, but less rugged

I did that in Adelaide, but it's not such a good idea in Canberra winters. The other room will be warmer.

It's MINE! The last place. Yes, the one with all the knobs. I sign for it tomorrow, and get the keys early next week.

I'm all excited and distracted now. I shall have to get drunk tonight...
