Setting out the Christmas china

How did the Christmas season come around so fast? smiley - huh

Just two more days, and I'll have to get the Christmas china out of the boxes where it has slept for lo these many months. Let's see, there's a tartan plaid pattern, and a Friendly Village pattern with a cozy living room (complete with Christmas tree, and hearth and fire and wreath and candles) in the center. Then there's the Lenox pattern
with the cardinals and chickadees frolicking around. There's a
Victorian Christmas pattern. There's Pfaltzgraff's Royal Holiday.
There's a Mikasa pattern with lots of holly. Plus a few others. smiley - erm

Actually, I cheat. I sample a few of these patterns at regular inter-
vals throughout the year. smiley - blush

No need to be embarrassed! smiley - smiley

*tries to think who else collects crockery*

I think Paul H, and Avenging Washcloth, and possibly Lady Scott, but I may be wrong...

I try not to collect things, but do seem to have a breeding population of ex-library books threatening to take over my living space....can't resist them when they sell them for 50p for a full bag (usually about 10-15 books!)

The closest I can think of is "Friendly Village," which has a mailbox on the back of each plate. At least books could arrive in that mailbox. Also, there are probably some books in the Old Schoolhouse.

Lady Scott

Yes Candi... it's beginning to *look* like I collect dish patterns!

I just recently got another pattern, but whereas people like Paul H and WTF (*giggle*) collect from all different kinds of manufacturers, I've only been collecting from Pfaltzgraff.

I *really* don't plan on getting any more sets, just additional pieces (preferably serving pieces) of the patterns I already have:

>Folk Art - Retired a couple years ago, but they do a run of it yearly, including several new items in the pattern. Still, since I've been collecting this one the longest, I have the most items in this pattern, including a pair of table lamps.
>Tea Rose - All I have in this pattern are accesory pieces, which I use in the bedroom and bathroom.
>Sunshine - Didn't buy this one until it was retired. smiley - erm The price was fantastic though, since we hit a 1/2 price outlet sale... when they were already marked down... plus we get an employee discount. Saved $$$$!! However, if I ever want to buy any more of it, I'll probably have to do it on ebay, and the price will likely be almost as high as full retail. smiley - yikes
>Monaco - My newest! I'm just waiting for them to make more varied serving pieces in this pattern. Since they "retired" the Folk Art pattern a few years ago, I've been looking for a new pattern to replace it, and this one won out. smiley - ok

Thanks, Lady Scott for confirming that I am rather slow on the uptake ...feeling a bit stupid now smiley - doh ....given the clues, it was obvious WTF couldn't possibly be anything but an alternative identity for someone I already knew!

smiley - tongueout Paul H!

And I suppose you think William Shakespeare was really Christopher Marlowe or even Queen Elizabeth I. Oh, ye of little faith. smiley - tongueout

However, it *is* true that Paul H. "helps" Fluffy Pink Rabbit with his posts. I live near them, and I have popped in when they were at it.

Anyway, ......I forgot what I came here to say. smiley - erm
