Been to view two care homes today, both seemed very nice places.. Unfortunately no vacances at mo. but things can change day to day... Put her name down for both, one looks more promising than the other as she is only one on the list...
Will keep you posted...

Let's hope they can take her in that one then Sheryl ...hopefully it won't involve a long wait!

Sheryl I hope that you are able to get help and support from the MacMillian Nurses and/or the Marie Curie Nurses.

Update on Mam...
She moves into the care home on Wednesday this week... All being well we should soon get her settled and give her a better quality of life...
The hospital and respite hospital have looked after her well but it's not the same as having some company day in day out as she will now in the home...
We will be able to pop in n out whenever possible, not restricted to visiting hours, and it's local....
Will keep you posted....

Good to hear your Mum is getting settled in a nice place. One good for being social and care I hope she adjusts quickly and enjoys the people.

Glad you found somewhere close shez,hope she's soon settled in and comfortable.
I can tell you some of the basics for finance,unless thing have changed .
If she owns her own home they will ask you to sell it,and she has assetts,otherwise the concil will pay for her care,They'll take her pension book and then make the rest up themselves,but she'll be allowed around £16 spending money per week.
They didn't rush us to sell mums house,but we had almost a years money to pay when we did sell it.
