My New Job

Post 1

It is the end of day 2 and I have not felt like this in a long long time. I am tired, my eyes ache and my brain is buzzing. But I am so happy. I had forgotten how wonderful the charitable sector is. I am stunned by the people I am working with - how warm, welcoming and down to earth they are! How easily I fit into the team! Perhaps saying the interview that I was a happy smiley person was not such a bad idea after all. The work is stimulating and I am learning new skills already! I am content at long last. Suddenly the torment of the Summer is forgotten.

Shame there is no internet access! smiley - winkeye

So, are you indoors at this cafe, or outdoors? What's the place like? Do they serve Guiness? smiley - smiley Must be just after 11:00pm there now (it's 3:00pm here). Is it quiet or noisy?

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.)

Fantastic! I'm so glad you found a job that makes you happy.... but you do realise that this contravenes the 1990 "Curtailment of Fun and Pleasure in the Workplace" act, don't you? smiley - smiley

My New Job

Post 13

Mr Sapsea

Is "Scrumpy" some sort of colloquialism, or is it an actual brand name? It sounds so... eccentric.

My New Job

Post 16

Lochangel

it is a colloquialism - it is extra strong still cider. Like lager is a type of beer smiley - smiley

My New Job

Post 17

Mr Sapsea

strangely enough some of my worst times have been cider induced,
merrydown night when I was at uni...

Oh, you mean like canadian beer? smiley - smiley When it comes to beer, the average Canadian thinks: If it's less than 6% alcohol, it's only for children and the elderly. smiley - smiley
