How to Play Super Heroes V Super Villains

At last. The superheroes are arriving but the bad news is that the super villains are in large numbers too.

If you want to get involved you must do the following:
1, create a Journal Entry on your own site called Super Battle.
2, Your first entry must state whether you are a hero or villain and a bit about yourself.
3, Super heroes/villains must communicate with their own side and identify where the opposition is.
4, You attack an opposing player by placing a fish smiley - fish made with > < > (but without the spaces) in their Super Battle forum.
5, If the next two posts are also fish and posted by two other different members of the same team then the victim is out until a member of their side releases them with a posting of a winking smiley smiley - winkeye made with ; - ) (but no spaces)
6, If the victim notices they are being attacked they can add their own winking smiley before the third fish posting.

A "frozen" hero or villain cannot attack anyone while they are frozen. If there is any dispute we will have a fist fight in Hyde Park to decide who is right. Or a lazer battle on Betelgeuse - I don't care.

Let the battle begin!

Don't forget to set up your forum!

Any new clever additions to the rules will be discussed for months and then may be adopted.

Rules for turncoats:

1: If a two-timer has fished someone, he may not wink him before someone else has.
2: When a turncoat has been fished and frozen by both sides, the side with two fishes gets the point

I'm happy with both these.
Through a little experience I can see that everyohne calling theri battle forum the same thing can lead to some confusion. Can we overcome this? Use initials? Numbers?...

It's a bit late now, since we all have forums, but I thought the idea was for the attacker to create a forum and get his buddies to fish 3 times without the attackee noticing. If you create your own battle forum, you get informed when someone posts to it, which makes it harder for attackers to win. Perhaps only evil ones would think of a sneak attack, though ...

Okay, then. How about this rule:

Villians can create new attack forums on hero's pages. Heros can use their own judgement.

Here's some rules for multiple fishing:

Once someone has been fished 3 times, the fishers can continue to put fishes on the forum. If 3 more fishes get put on without a winking smiley stopping them, then they have been double-fished. Similarly, if they have been fished 9 times, they have been triple-fished. Each individual fishing has to have 3 different fishers, but they can be repeats from the original fishing. The scoring for this is as follows:

For each fish, score the number of points corresponding to the fish number. For example, a single fishing scores 1 point. A double fishing scores 1 point for the single it started with and 2 points for getting a double (total = 3 points). A triple fishing scores 1 point for the single, 2 points for the double and 3 points for the triple, for a total of 6 points. There is a bonus of 2 points for each subsequent fishing after the first that involves no repeated fishers from previous fishings.

Currently, there is a forum where the supervillians have a Triple fish going! And the second fishing used all different fishers from the first fishing. Total points so far: 8 points. Better find that forum, heros. smiley - smiley

shouldn't a double-fishing require a double-winking to release them? and likewise for a triple???

Good point, although we wouldn't want to set up a situation where there aren't enough winkers left to do the releasing. There was a time a few days ago when almost all of the super heros were incapacitated. If we had multiple fished any of them, they never would have been released if it had required more than one winky. It could also lead to difficulty in counting points if say, someone gets double fished and single winked, then fished some more. Now that I think of it, it is probably best to let one wink work for releasing any number of fishes.

I have to say that I wouldn't be in agreement with the multiple fishing rule. Not only because the current multiple fishing is being done prior to the rule being made and that it is being carried out by heinous villains but because the nature of the game has to account for time zones and such.

I think putting a player out of play until a winking smiley is put on their forum is enough. It's a bit like knocking someone out and then continuing to beat them while they are unconscious. You might get a "kick" out of it but it really doesn't add anything to their condition.

I also think we need to look carefully at the people who want to be on both sides at once. I would prefer the people concerned to generate a second character and have the fun of running two people - one good and one bad but not have a good/bad character as life is complicated enough.

Simplicity is a wonderful thing if you can achieve it.

What do other people think?

I would like to propose that once an individual has 100 postings in a forum they start a new super battle forum.

If we can agree on somehting like "2SB Vestboy" for the title of the second super battle forum (substituting your own name for Vestboy) we will be able to identify the forums in the long lists which appear on our home pages.

Do people agree?

that would probably work, but how do you know how many you have?

Agree? I'm totally lost. Maybe I should just start a forum and find out the hard way how it works.
