After my last entry I thought I'd give a strange link to this one. I'm typing with a broken thumb due to having fallen off a loading bay and landing on my side. I fell on my right shoulder, which hurt like stink, but broke my left thumb. Which hurt, but not as much as my shoulder.

I had my first physio session today. I had to reach and stretch and twist until the physiotherapist was satisfied that whe could work out where the pain was.

"So when you twist your arm twice round your neck and scratch the back of your neck it hurts."

"Mhmhmmmhmmhmhhhhm"

"You can let go now!"

She was a nice lady called Dawn and she was very gentle with me. When she attached the electrodes and plugged them in I had every confidence in her.

Why is it that everyone tells you you are lucky when you break something.

"You're lucky it wan't your neck/shoulder/skull!"

"Yes, I felt lucky as it was happening."

You were trying to do the balancing on one thumb trick again, weren't you?

I see what you mean about 'lucky' though. Such things being relative.

"Thumb? Huh! You were lucky a meteorite didn't strike the earth causing global extinction!"

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.)

It's all very Tommy Cooper, isn't it?

"Doctor, it hurts when I do this!"
"Well, don't do it."

So now I'm the butt of everyone's jokes, too. smiley - wah

It's amazing how many things you use your left thumb for. It's only when you can't use it that you miss it. As a UK driver with a manual car changing gear becomes a bit exciting.

Oh yeah, that reminds me of another post I must do...
