I quite like the one where they have a big musical number at the end of the theme music. I like the one where the huge Monty Python foot trod on them as well.

I love the X-Files episode!!! "I bring you love!"). And Homer Cubed. The Halloween eps (well, the early ones. Up to the one with Homer Cubed) have been hilarious. I remember seeing Homer Cubed in its entirety, every time since they've cut out the blackboard scene, and a few other seconds. I also love the one where Bart takes over Camp Krusty (my dream for the crappy camps I had to go to). So many more GOOD episodes....

I like the one where Bart gets Side Show Bob to do the whole of HMS Pinafore (the one where you get the above mentioned Thompson Credits).

The one on BBC last night had them all crashing through the scenery as they rushed to the sofa. Unfortunately, I missed what it said on the blackboard. I thin it was a limeric of some sort.

Anyway, favourite blackboard quote anyone?

Nighthawk

An answer to the Halloween question in the US. The original Halloween episodes always get shown at Halloween.
After that they show up in whatever re-run slot they feel like.

How about the episode about 'Flamin' Moe's'?
I liked the 'Cheers' theme music spoof.

There is a fair number of vids available - though not enough. Still haven't bought one yet. My mates have loads recorded from the tele which I just borrow if I need a fix.

The original ones are from the Tracey Ullman show aren't they? I don't think you can get them here... although it won't be long if you can't cos they will sell! - even if they aren't a patch on the more recent ones (ooh, controvertial!)

The Ghost Of TV's Frink

The Simpsons were indeed on the Tracy Ullman show originally, and I think they showed a few shorts per episode. The first full length episode featured Homer and Bart bringing home Santa's Little Helper for Christmas.

When the Simpsons were first shown over here in the UK I remember them being very controversial as apparently they were a bad influence on young impressionable minds.

Another question, do you have a fave Itchy and Scratchy episode? I like the one where Ithcy has Scratchy strapped to a bench and cuts him into small pieces with a large laser.

That reminds me:
The episode where Maggie is so impressed by Itchy and Scratchy that she tries to kill Homer. Very funny social comment.

And Marge doesn't believe him and makes out that he's paranoid. Yeah I liked that one too.

The Simpsons always make social comments though. That's the point isn't it - making us laugh at ourselves and lots of stupid bits about our world, like tv shopping.

I like the episode where Lisa is addicted to phoning one of those chat line things and she has to try and give up her addiction. This results in her going cold turkey. Very funny.

Oh yeah, and this ones probably been mentioned above but the one where Maggie gets put in the creche and has to organise a rescue for the soother. One of my fave quotes in that one too, when Homer comes out of the creche and goes
"Mmmmmm.... babies!!"

That'd be the "Corey Hotline"
She tries to break the habit, but can't. Great stuff.

Yep, I believe it was mentioned. I've just noticed something. What I call a dummy, you call a soother, and the Americans call a pacifier. It's kinda like the whole TV Remote Control (Zapper, Remote, Thingy, Changer, etc.).
