...in Diablo II, that is. I finally bumped into ol' Diablo himself, and just before I managed to land my first blow, he killed me. In fact, he literally killed me in less than one second.

I don't know what to say about this. Back to the drawing board, I guess.

Looks like you're pretty obsessed with this Diablo game. I have dragged myself away from The Sims (the only sort of game I really get into - not that I've really spent a lot of time in rpg) as it was absorbing my entire being. Its fun to become involved in a different sort of 'reality' but I'm not sure how good it is for the soul/imagination/social life.

Did you read the review of The Sims on SomethingAwful (http://www.somethingawful.com/articles/weekinsims/index.htm )? It's the funniest review I've ever read. Several people in my office went out to buy it after reading that review. smiley - smiley

Read it yesterday. Very funny. not quite my style of game play though - I try and keep my Sims all sweetness and light- get them decent jobs, friends, sofas inside the house. That sort of thing.

Having left it alone for a month or so (what with work commitments and the like) I started playing it again since I read that review - oops, another 8 hours wasted.

Then I'm assuming people don't behave strangely in the game quite as often as the review seems to imply. The "wife getting up at 5:00 in the morning to cook hamburgers on the BBQ" was very funny. I mean, that _is_ a trifle bizarre, don't you think? smiley - smiley

Anything odd like that happen to you in the game yet?

Oh yeah - the 5am barbecue is actually pretty common - I think it depends where you put the bbq - if its closer to the bedroom than the kitchen is, if a hungry Sim wakes in the middle of the night for a snack they head for the nearest food (? sounds logical to me) - not quite sure about that. They certainly have bbq for breakfast quite frequently.

I'm still trying to get my sims drunk but the booze doesn't appear to affect them - maybe they just haven't drunk enough. I should try booze for breakfast and see how long it takes them to lose their jobs.

Just stock their fridge with nothing but booze. smiley - smiley

Maybe you should put the BBQ in the kitchen, or put the stove out on the lawn. The possibilites are endless, it seems. Sounds like fun. smiley - smiley

Unfortunately, you do not have that degree of control - however, one of my families does have a rather sumptuous bar in the lounge and I got everyone drinking for breakfast, and then they missed work, had a party and one of them proposed to the bloke next door (who said no), Quite a fun day really - and no sign of a hangover smiley - smiley

That's pretty funny. Perhaps there's a lot more to that game than I originally thought. smiley - smiley

Actually, there is very little to the game - a lot of it is repetitive, or infuriating as they don't do what you want, but it does get under my skin and can't tear myself away. But it's a very slow-paced game, little action, I can't fathom what is so compelling about it!

Kind of like Mahir Cagri's home page. smiley - smiley
