Here we go again smiley - bleep

A 5.5 magnitude aftershock rattled and rocked my house at 1pm today. Then at 2.20pm a 6.0 hit us.

I was working from home, so at least I was 30km+ away from the epicentre. I've spent the rest of the afternoon next door, sharing hugs, cups of tea and conversation about anything but earthquakes.

How are you Rod?

Thanks Heleloo smiley - hug

Goodness, that's what I need - heaps of hugs...

Trouble is I'm wise to it all now and am sitting here waiting for more aftershocks smiley - sadface There always seem to be a flurry after a bigger one. There have been quite a few in the 3's but we don't feel them here, so I'm hoping for heaps of that magnitude and none over 4.5

Thank you Prof and AlsoRan80 smiley - smiley
Those shakes on Monday have been upgraded to 5.6 and 6.3... the same size as the February 22nd quake.
A few in the 4s today, but at least I'm out of the city for the weekend.

Hello Frencbean,
Sorry for being late - I've just come across this thread while wondering how you're keeping.

We're OK thanks. Still getting the shakes now & then but coping pretty well - but we weren't in Chch for any of 'em, luckily.

Doglette seems to be getting used to them, she's not giving us warnings at the moment, except for the bigger ones.

All sorts of stories come out (if I could bring them all to mind...) such as an acquaintance who was wanting to move house, sold hers, went for the new one & couldn't get insurance. Considering there are so many people looking for houses here, that's nothing short of incredible! It was a week or so before the situation eased.

Anyway, when you visit us again, give us an update eh?

and in the meantime, smiley - hug

Hello Christiane, I haven't noticed you around for a while, I hope you're well.

Personally, I rarely sign out deliberately - but if I switch the 'puter off for any reason, doing that automatically signs me out...

Can't remember, but isn't there a little box that that you can tick to say 'remember me on this computer' (or something similar) ?

Christiane! Do you use Microsoft Word or another word processor? If so, you could always type your password into a document and save it with a title like h2pwd.
