I have rigged up the wirey broadband until I can figure out what the hell has happened with my wireless.

So I can get online again smiley - biggrin However, I now have a wire from the puter to the modem, then two from the modem - one to the electrics and one to the phone socket. They radiate out in mid-air from the centre of the room (the modem's perched on the end of the sofa) smiley - silly This is all due to the stupid layout of sockets, phone and table in this shoebox smiley - cdouble

I am quietly celebrating Obama's success smiley - magic with a smiley - coffee and cheese on toast smiley - bigeyes

Morning Websailor smiley - smiley

It's too complicated for me too and the sensible side of my head is winning the argument: get a computer person in to fix it properly, rather than me messing about and run the risk of smiley - bleeping it up entirely.

It's times like this when I realise the importance of my internet connection. It's my main link to the world and most of my friends and rellies... particularly while I'm settling into a new country.

So when I get a cosy country pad (in the next two or three weeks all being well) I'll definitely get somebody to come in and sort out the internet stuff for me right from the word go. In the meantime I'll survive with the wires.

Frenchbean,

I do understand your need for the Internet. I would be devastated to lose mine. Being at home so much it gives me a much needed outlet and lots of people to chat to which is nice.

I do hope you find a country 'pad' that suits you soon. I sounds as easy to get accommodation in NZ as it was in Oz. Pity it is not the same here!

Sound idea to get your Internet done by an expert then you have someone to blame if it goes wrong smiley - rofl

Take care,
