so some say.
i used to work in a store room and every now and then i used to feel a tapping on my shoulder. there was never anyone there, so naturally i thought, oooh, strange. it kept happening for months. usually a couple of times a day. i began to ignore it in the end but i kept feeling a tapping on the shoulder. most people would instantly blame paranormal activity, but i realised it never happened when i wasn't wearing my overall. the material of my overall was a silly nylon thing. picked up static charge like nobodies business. what was happening was whilst i was working and obviously moving about a bit, the shoulder are of my overall was rubbing against my shirt. it was rubbing more than anywhere else due to the fact i was lifting things a lot. so all this rubbing was causing the build up of a static charge which occassionally got big enough for it to earth itself through my shoulder, causing my nerves to contort my muscle over a small enough area for it to feel as if i was being tapped on the shoulder.
my point being, there is a lot we don't understand at the moment, but with a little open mindedness, answers will come

there isnt 'always' such an easy explanation though!
No one could ever fully explain away the goings on in that house in Amytiville..theres been certified cases of demonic posession, some scientists are now accepting telekinesis ,telepathy and other psychic abilities as fact.. majick really does work.. etc

ah ha! guess what i did during my lunch...googled about Amityville, and look what i digged up:
There was a family killed in the house in 1974 by their oldest son. He was not possessed and did not hear what I would call "real" voices. The house is not abandoned. It is still standing (contrary to the movie Amityville 3-D), and a family is living there now. Nobody has experienced anything out of the ordinary, although according to Anson's story, anybody connected with the making of the books or movies were cursed.
Something that a lot of people have wondered is why Ronald DeFeo Jr. killed his family.
The answer is simple: the money. During my first year in grad school, I read High Hopes: The Amityville Murders which details not only the murders, but the entire trial and background information that lead up to the murders. DeFeo had been spoiled by his family. They had given him money and a car, but he kept wanting more. He and a friend even went so far as to stage a phony holdup at his father's car dealership to steal some money from his family about a week before the murders. There had been numerous fights in the family as well, and a night or two before the murders, DeFeo and his father had gotten into a fist fight in the family's basement over the phony hold up. It is believed that this fight is what might have triggered the murders.
When DeFeo was going through interrogation, he kept changing his story from not hearing anything during the time his family was murdered to claiming that it was a Mafia hit to the older of his sisters helping him.
When he was arrested and put into jail, he kept boasting about how he was going to plead insanity and be released in a couple years. While a psychiatrist found that he had an antisocial personality disorder, DeFeo was found to be sane and responsible for his actions. People involved with the trial were also shocked when it was found that DeFeo had a list of people who he was going to get revenge on after he was "released", and DeFeo kept asking how much of his inheritance he was still entitled to.
Thankfully, Ronald Defeo Jr. is still in prison and was denied parole in 1999.
The house has gone through changes since the Lutzes left it. The house number of "112" has been changed. While the house is still standing, "112 Ocean Avenue" technically doesn't exist anymore. The house was repainted white with black shutters some time ago as well. Also, those "eyelike" windows are gone. They've been replaced with square windows in recent years, apparently to try to disguise the house from tourists.
One person who's written to me about my webpages was from the Amityville area. He said that he's been to the real house in Amityville. Unlike the movie, the house is on a small lot. Had anything like what the Lutzes described in the book actually occurred, neighbors would have noticed.
So anytime you read one of the books or watch one of the movies, you can enjoy the stories, but remember, that all they are is stories. Nothing more.
The supernatural does exist, but not in this case.
now this explains events before the Lutzes moved in(the family the first film surrounds), and if what caused the upheavel that lead to one family becoming so terrified and created a film is as clear cut as this. Money. then i suspect that the Lutzes were just cashing in as well.
i also know the Mary Celeste is a scam

were the priests etc cashing in too? i shouldnt think so!(the vaticans council of miracles certified the house as posessed)
Or..what about the case of the 14 yr old boy that the exorcist was based on? (the priests records were used).. yeah theres natural/scientific explanation for a lot of things..but there isnt for others. you can just say there is no paranormal whatsover..

Ok i'll ask you again Creachy
Do you believe there is life on other planets? Do you believe that they put a man on the moon? Do you believe in the supernatural at all?
Reason I ask is...you say you'd have to shake hands with a ghost to believe it actually exists...yet all though there may be life on other planets you've never been given conclusive evidence of this...and all though you have been told man has been to the moon (highly doubtful) you believe it...just because you haven't seen a ghost or supernatural energy, dosen't mean it dosen't exist.

ok, there is no paranormal whatsoever
ok, the little boy that the exorcist is based on. 'mental' in my words. a careless mother left some graphic books about demons lieing around for an impressionable child to stumble upon. it was a jesuit priest that performed the exorcism as they are one of the few remaining faiths that will accept possession. which is why it surprises me to hear the catholic council of miracles(who the hell are these guys) even accepted the existence of the Amityville house.
the priests could have been manipulated through their faith.

I don't believe in posession, i believe in energys that haven't moved on. If you believe that when you die theres nothing, then maybe you should find someone who has had that sort of experiance. I believe sometimes energy's don't think they.ve passed, so carry on how they normally would if they were alive. Some people were evil when they were alive.

Do you believe there is life on other planets?
it has been proved that life on this planet began when molecules from a passing asteroid got into our atmosphere thus sparking the life cycle on Earth. so for us to be here, for me to shake my neighbours hand, life, in whatever form, must exist on another planet.
Do you believe that they put a man on the moon?
this is a conspiracy question. different to what we are talking about. but with my views on American Governments past and present, i don't believe they put Neil Armstrong on the moon way back then with the technology and knowledge we had but since, yeah, sure.
Do you believe in the supernatural at all?
in a very different way to every example i have ever seen.

Like I aid you have no conclusive evidence that there is life on other planets. Yes there could be, but to actually find that would mean space travel, which cannot not be done, it would take millions of years to get to the nearest star...and thats just the sun...of course we cant have a vast space that is unexplored without having more life forms on different planets that would be stupid...but as for them visting us...load of bull in my opinion.
The moon thing...I believe man has been in space but hasn't been as far as the moon...this is highly doubtful because after a certain point of the earths atmosphere you have no protection over radition and space dust, which can actually be dangerous...Did they go to the moon...NO...can we prove it...NO...
