It's cold in the Far North, so I'm heading South for (almost) a week. Travelling across Europe is not an entirely easy task - it includes a lot of waiting at airports.
Presently I'm, at the Great Hub Down South where I have to wait four hours until the flight to the land of Flamenco. Then there will be some more waiting for the last connecting flight to the City of casa az where I expect to arrive around midnight.
Az and Nog have promised to meet me and make sure I end up where I'm supposed to. Arriving in foreign country in the middle of the night can be... well...exciting... My knowledge in the local tongue is minuscule. I expect "hasta la vista, baby" is not the best phrase to start a conversation with.
Just had a fr*king expensive lunch - airports seem to have their own price range - and am waiting for the baggage drop to open. Had to book separate tickets for the trip between home and here, and another from here to the Real South. Because of that I was denied to check my baggage all way through.
Really looking forward to meet some more HooToo denizens IRL

It's exhausting waiting at airports for connections, so I hope you find something interesting to do and then a comfy chair to rest in.
I enjoyed having Pierce visit me here a week or so ago - but that meant he had a 6 hour stopover on both outward and return journeys.
Have a lovely time when you get there, and I am certain English will be spoken in all the airports at least.

Got rid of my bag finally and I'm presently located in a lounge in one of the International Terminals. They have wireless internet here, but I can't access all places I want to surf to
Good though that HooToo is not on the banned list.
...and I still very much dislike anagramming...

I know you'll have a wonderful time and the hassle of travelling will all be worth it.

In Madrid and another three hour wait before next flight. Found a place with free internet connection (cable - and I had to leave my boarding card as deposit) so I guess I'll stay here for a while.
This airport is about as confuzzling as the one in Frankfurt. Service minded is not a word they can spell here, Maybe it doesn't exsist in Spanish... Currently I'm rather fed up with clerks in informations desks...

Well, that vodka up on the rooftop at 2am seemed like a good idea at the time...
See? I'm already being led astray. Anyhow, just reporting that our favourite dragon landed safely late last night but ended up in a hotel room without internet (not what she'd booked!).
Now I have two hours to get myself out of bed and meet everyone for a lunch tapas.
*waves to Cur Teeth* (at least I can pronounce that one!)

Definitely a two coffee morning today.
Welcome to Seville, DQ

The Seville Welcome Committe was excellent .
... and pineapple juice instead of vodka has its advantages
Morning coffee was not what I had expected The in room facilities was decaf only - and what I thought was a creamer turned out to be some kind of artificial sweetener. Super sweet decaf is not what I want to stat my day with. Fortunately proper coffee with milk was found a couple of blocks away.
Anyway, gotta get back to the hotel to prepare for the rest of the day.

Strolled around Sevilla some today - got lost, but was found. (Toybox was ordered to walk me back to the hotel to avoid further attempts to find my own way... but I actually found my hotel faster than he did )
Had a fabolous lunch - which took some three hours or so - and watched the Giralda from another rooftop this evening.
Todays message is that non-alcoholic drinks are more expensive than the alcohol containing ones here in the South. Even though I think a mojito without rum must be cheaper to make than a rumfilled one...

In fact a rum-filled mojito does cost more than a non-alcoholic one, but wine & beer are cheaper than juices & soft drinks.
And we did indeed have a fabby lunch yesterday, including grilled antelope! (click on the collage to enlarge it)...

Bumped into Toybox at a café this morning so I had company at breakfast. Afterwards he insisted on walking me to the Alcazar (Old royal palace) - can't understand why people seem to think I get lost ...
Spent a lovely morning walking around in the Alcazar, watching architecture, nice gardens and the occasional painting. Now it's time for lunch and then I'll see what the queues to the Cathedral are like. If they're not to long I think I'm going to spend the afternoon in there.
