OOoHHhhhOooo,night-shift.,hard to stay awake!!

it's really not too bad, most of the mill is well lit, and is quite warm and steamy, whereas during the day it can get very hot, and there are tooo many bosses around

Oohhh,I heat. The only thing worse is humidity + heat

Those 12 hr shifts would be more of a killer. I worked 10 hr night shifts ( 2100 - 0730 - we didn't get paid for our meal break) for 27 years and they were long enough. However I only did 3 per week and for the last 18 years worked the same night each week so I could at least have some sort of social life. I now work 7.5 hr day shifts - 3 per week most weeks. They are either 0700 - 1500 or 1330 - 2130.

have worked an all 8 hour roster, which has 7 day stretches and only one weekend off, and this one which has 2 weekends, and 3 full days, and would rather this one

Glad I only do it for about 20 weeks, If I had to do it all the time, I think I would go nuttier, than what I am now

the mill is hot and humid all the time, and will get worse as summer comes on !

I'm about to go onto days then the 12 hour nights next week end , this is the worst bit........

but get time and a 1/2 for the weekends, so this will be my big pay week

that's a stinker where you come off days have one day off, then go to nights I don't think i could cope with that.

get 28 hours between days and 12 hour nights

but only get 20 hours between 12 hour days and afternoons

it is no wonder that I lose track of what day it is

That really is a testing rota, specially as it's quite a physical job too

You grow in my estimation all the time Helly. Do you get much holiday time off?, and do you normally get away from it all to some sun drenched beach

had a good day today though
went to the movies and saw terminator 3, then
went 4 wheel driving around the back of the airport to watch the airshow that is on today, then
went to the RSL club and played the pokies, won $60

this is the biggest day out we have had for a long time

all that fresh air has made me really tired too!

I'm sure fresh air is bad for me, it just makes me tired !

The job is hard, but is quite satisfying though

Well it sounds like you cope well, it's important to balance work with play....specially if it involves winning money


You're right about the fresh air though, if it's not got diesel fumes in it , i cough

got to go soon, my bed and hubby are calling..........
