out of curiosity, i had a look at what my homepage looks like in brunel and alabaster. i can now definately say that goo is best!
alabaster was very jarring on the eyes, and brunel wasn't so bad, but all the layout was changed so all the welcoming stuff i had to scroll down to the bottom of the page to find.
i will stay goo forever.

If I remember correctly, the idea is that when you see your page in Brunel then the welcome stuff is at the bottom. But if someone else looks at your page (or if you look at someone else's page) in Brunel, then the welcome stuff is at the top.
This is supposed to give you easier access to the bits you want to get to, I believe.
Well, boo to that. I'm a Goo fan as well!

When I started all this h2g2ing malarkey I tried to get my homepage to stay in Goo style - tested it and saved it but it always defaulted to alabaster; so it looks like I am stuck with it. I much prefer Goo but can't keep hold. Any ideas on where I am going wrong?

oh, good to see you back cc.
go into your preferences, change the skin to classic goo, and then click the update details box to save. i'm guessing that you are on your pc and haven't sneaked in a digibox behind my back... then click the link to return to your page. it 'should' work.
now, about that half tonne of messages i left on your page.....
