h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I'm singing with the choral group my mom is in. My friend and cocaptian from fencing is also in it, with her mom, and there's a junior whose mom has a lead role. I'm in the chorus, alto, so no big role (chorus sings in three numbers) but I may audition for the part of one of the two young girls (no. 22), I'm not sure yet, because it will mean getting really good at the Italian.
The bow is nice. It's not everything I wanted, but it's pretty close, and probably the best we'll get for the money. It's very flexible and has a nice bounce. I find if it's too stiff it shakes when I'm in the lower third, and this one doesn't, so that's a good sign. But it's considerably lighter than my old bow (which was fairly heavy) so it's an entirely different technique to play louder (faster bow speed vs. more pressure) and I keep trying to do it the old way, by pressing harder, so I'm getting these interesting dents in my finger by the time I finish practicing.
