h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Aargh! Last night, March 3, was the first thunderstorm of the 2006 season. The weather god postured and roared while slinging lightning bolts around. At least he didn't "huff and puff and blow our house in".

Gus, our dog, cried and carried on like a baby. He really hates thunderstorms. This all occurred about 2:30 am, so I'm sure the neighbors really appreciated his goings on.

Now what does this have to do with anything, you may ask. Nothing--it's just another way to complain about needing rain. You see, with all the noise and bluster, we got, maybe, four drops of rain.

My mother up in north-east Scotland, where they're having rather a lot of snow, has also been having concurrent thunder storms.
or what?

We've been told to expect drought measures here in the south-east this Summer, despite it having seemed to rain only marginally less than usual.

Time to get that extra rain-butt fitted, methinks.

Hope Gus has recovered from his fright.

We didn't get any rain today either. <sadface. But we didn't have thunder. It's a bit insulting to have thunder but no rain.

Thor doesn't care who he insults. We actually had a little more than four drops of rain, but four drops makes a better story.
