Yes, "you always hurt the one you love" "You don't miss your water till your well runs dry" etc.
Right now, he has had a chess game with B (the student, who seems like a very nice young man) & is now eating with him, they seem to be talking fine; i'm not eating because my 'vegetarian" cutlery is in a box under heaps of other boxes, so that's around 48 hours since i last ate; so at least i will lose weight from all this (and yes, guess who does the cooking?)
His ex reckons i should just grin & bear it until November, when the habitual residency *may* happen or persuade him to finance me meanwhile living in the town. I am unhappy with either option; i did that with mickey & we just ended up getting back together on different terms & eventually, i dumped him at Christmas.
Just realised it's f'kin Valentine's day today, how ironic.

I think we have all tried to avoid mentioning that Terri. I thought it couldn't have happened at a more hurtful time.
Terri, you are very naughty. Surely you are not locked in your room? Get yourself out of there and get some food inside you. You won't fight off shingles if you don't eat woman!!
I suspect plodding on till your Residency comes through might be the better option if you can stand the tension. You will less beholden to him that way than being financed in town since you can earn your keep however reluctantly!
Just my for what they are worth. Gotta now. Take care.

Good advice, Webbie, same as A, his ex said, also Aye BeeWench, who has met us in RL.
Wemanaged to actually discuss things tonight, while the helpful visitor washed the dishes (which takes a bit of pressure off me; P says i tend to be too hard on myself re: feeling obliged to 'pay my way' in domestic sstuff, 'cos i can't in money terms)
I think having B here for a month, then A, German older lady, then probably two young German girls will help; P has a big workload during that time so won't be exposed to me yakking away, i get company & help with the physical stuff.
Basically, we are both pretty exhausted & yippee, i have another blister. The thought of daily blisters is enough to send even sane people demented!

Terri, what's this you mentioned on the other thread about accidently almost setting fire to the place? Is everything okay?

Ja, all is fine, it was just our nice young volunteer chopped so much wood, i stupidly decided to dry it out in the range oven & left it a bit too long. When i opened the door of oven it flared up & the room filled with smoke!
B came & sorted it out, by the time P got back, just a tiny smoky smell & he actually!

Thanks, Webbie!
No, things seem easier right now; i have actually spent much of today sleeping, which i needed, whilst P & B did outside stuff, then we all played silly kids card games with the freshly bathed (by them!) puppy.
The itchy stuff seems to be getting better, maybe the anti-viral meds are starting to work? or maybe, as usual, i only get half a disease (i had only A Mump, usually most folks get Mumps!)
It snowed again last night, but thanks to B, we have enough wood ready chopped; he is off to see a nice Eyerish Galway girl for the weekend, good-looking young French guys in short supply round here!!!!, back on Monday, when P goes away yet again..
So: what are the rest of you up to this weekend?

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary] Posted Feb 20, 2010
It's a nice day out, so I think I'll take a walk. That'll probably be good to burn off some of that monkey bread (http://smittenkitchen.com/2010/02/monkey-bread-with-cream-cheese-glaze/ - although mine didn't look that pretty, and we also didn't bother with glazing) I made earlier, and probably ate too much of... it is very yummy.
I've also found someone that has online all the old episodes of Doctor Who (starting from the beginning, back in '63), and have slowly been going through them. I heard a lot about that show, but never watched it before; it's pretty fun to see how it developed. So I'll probably be doing some more of that, as well.
(sorry for not supplying a link, but we _are_ on BBC grounds after all! )

Oooh, Lady P!, how are you doing?
That bread does indeed seem yummy; might even try making some myself, or more likely, bully P into doing so (he's into making bread; even has an ancient hand mill for grinding grain)
It's dam cold here again, frost hasn't melted from last night, had to give warm water & new fat ball, poor things.
B has gone off to Galway to meet a lady fiend(?); the was half hour late, so we stood around shivering, but good for to be exposed to traffic & strange people. I went a weighed her at Animal health Centre; she's gained 3kg in a week!!!! Now 11 & half kg, was 5 when we got her; she is going to be Big!

Hi folks, sorry i haven't been around the last couple of days, low power 'cos of no wind & very little solar yet agin...P says it's the only time in his 24 yrs here he's seen it like this; the batteries just don't get charged up enough when it's sunny to compensate for grey, still, foggy cold days.
Him & B are off tomorrow to Infect other folks systems, including The Ice House, highly appropriate in this weather!
Meanwhile, i will stay here & hold the fort, keep home fires burning etc; try & prevent Woolie Bear from using cats as teething aids etc.
B cleared a nice patch of ground today & i planted some seed potatoes; the ones you buy here are yukky mush, these ones are French...i always thought Eye Land was big into spuds, but they seem mostly composed of water & tasteless.
JElllen, what's this scary new Leo movie about?

I'm too tired to post much tonight, Terri, but I'll be back soon. Shutter Island is a psychological thriller set in a institution for the criminally insane in the 1950s. It is based on a book by Dennis Lehane.
