Thanks for letting them do their nasty medical business on you! Have you got any antibiotics for pneumonia?

Hi Terri, I am glad that you've gotten a diagnosis and are being treated. Good Girl indeed.
A friend of mine had a similar problem with his nose, caused by falling on it. It was a bugger when his allergies acted up- spontaneous, gushing nosebleeds. Don't remember what, if anything, was done for it, but I know it was managed OK. Hang in there.

Hi Terri
It is good to hear from you and I hope that the doctor's will be able to give you a clear diagnosis of what type of pneumnonia you have and that you will be able to get treatment for it as well as for the nasal cavaties.
Bon chance on your appeal, and I hope it goes through.
Take care and I hope that your health will improve soon.

all 'you lot' for your kind thoughts!
Feeling much better now, so far no nasty yuk blood stuff & such a relief to be out of that hospital; honestly, anyone who says "get thee to hospital for a rest " just hasn't a clue how evil it can be, despite the overworked med staff doing their best, you get no rest, just boredom, constant interruptions, painful tests & the noise level is incredible.
Today has been great, back into rural Oirland, me & P seem to be working our way through the stress of the last few weeks, did a load of clearing out/re-organising Shared/Personal Space stuff & back to situation;we are bothe pretty sure that personal stress via mindless bureeacracy plays a large part in both of our lives & affects health immensely.
Actually ventured into the village last night, quiet little craic at local bar, but so lovely to feel relaxed afer all this strain on both of us.
MANDOLA!!!!!I hadn't a clue that whilst i was away, P had organised a Mandola expert to try to fix thing, that will be a new challenge, it's like a cross between a cello & mandolin, P is classically trained cello player, the instrument itself is an ancient type Celtic creature, last i saw was held together by Gaffer (duct) tape with wrong strings on, couldn't make head nor tail of it, it would be lovely to have an instrument to play around with again, especially a genuine rare Celtic one;anyone who happens to know about these things, please advise;internet advice tends to depend on actually understanding tuning, which i don't really!
The patio is progressing nicely, P has been working hard on it, constructing doors etc, flowers coming out, swallows nesting, i managed to split some wood logs today & EAT proprerly, made a Thai curry for the first time, someone please advise on the basics between green & red ones, the technique seems so different to Indian/Pakistani type curries!
Not done any work on the Sooper Dooper Coat today, but once i become a world renowned fashion designer of Weird & Wonderful Couture, i shall obviously invite commissions from you all; which will be displayed on the walks of the planet & make us all rich, famous & stylish (if eccentric)
Meanwhile, i am re-reading The River of Adventure (Enid Blyton, of course) & Fritz the Cat has been de-wormed.These things are important.
Trying not to think about the Medical Grilling on Tuesday.
Mood:positive. Where there's a willy, there's a way!
So: desperate for bews from You Lot; after all my self-pity posts, time for you to rant/whinge/moan/rejoice/tell ALL Gossip please!

Oh I am so happy to hear you sounding better, Terri! Yay! Good for you and P.
Not much gossip to relay from my end, except to say that I am massively excited about the new Star Trek movie, which I enjoyed very much.

I do appreciate so much that you braved the evils of hospital and that you seem to be on the mend. Please take care now, and stay on the upwards path!
Over here, I live in bliss with my sweet hawaiian-japanese 'nam war deserter, gourmet cook lover. I never realised love was so easy and natural!
The kids and I just got accepted for extra parts in an outdoor production of The Wind in the Willows, so the whole summer is busy.

I'm just all at the thought of a noisy hospital.
Glad you're on the mend and back to creative type ventures.
Nothing much at my end. Going back to work this morning after a week off for the funeral and discussing the estate and spending time with my dad last week.

Good that you lot seem relatively Ok right now; PC, hope the family nasties were not too bad; thank goodness K is supportive.
I endured the Medical assessment reasonably well: ie: didn't get immediately transferred to a loony bin or verbally attack the idiot doctor; but i doubt he will pass me for benefits; my Social W**ker (who is lovely) advised "make out you are much more depressed than you really are", GP had said "don't let them think you are too nutty, or they will lock you up, just limp visibly & act "lost in space & in time warp"
One of my problems is i actually find it very difficult to lie & have been trained to be polite & tend to be verbally communicative, which doesn't slot well into their little box labelled "Victim"!
Oh well, we shall see what happens. After the oreal; P drove me to a Holy Well; which was an amazing Magick Place, a little boy around 8yrs old started talking to me:
"Why are you lighting FIVE candles? Most people only buy one!"
"One is for me, 'cos i've just come out of hospital, one is for P, who is a troubled soul, one is for Edda the , one is for Fritz, our new & one is for Yoda, who is still in France."
I explained about quarantine stuff.
"Do you miss her a lot?"
"Yes, every day, i feel like she thinks i abandoned her, when she's never done anything wrong in her life, i can't explain it to her & it was especially awful at Christmas, when she was sick & i couldn't be with her in her pain"
"My puppy died at Christmas. She was two months old; i was trying to teach her how to cross the lane safely & a car squashed her."
"How horrible that is, poor you, poor little puppy, poor driver who must have felt so awful too"
"But maybe it was MY Fault. I'd won 10 Euro's on a scratch card that day, gambling is wrong. Maybe God punished me? Why would God, who is supposed to be good, let the puppy die,not me?
"I don't know; sometimes really unfair things seem to happen, but i doubt a caring God would punish either you or the puppy just because of the gambling. What did you do with the money you won?"
"It's still in my pocket; i am scared of it."
"Maybe you could find a doggie rescue centre & give it to them, so some other puppy might get help for an illness or injury?"
"Why didn't anyone else say that? Look, look, i want to show you something special!"
In this wooded grotto was a tree, festooned with objects of all sorts, from a baby's dummy (pacifier) to hair clips, ribbons, beads, rosaries, earrings..you name it, it was there, so colourful, beautiful, very Buddhist/Paganish.
"Are you going to put something on it?"
"I don't think i have anything on me, except my clothes!"
Then i remembered.I took off my latest Medical ID plastic bracelet & hung that on. It seemed right somehow & yes, i thought of You Lot also.
Driving back, thre was a , which also seemed right.

Oh, wonderful Terri!
Thank you for helping that poor little boy in such a lovely way!
I pray to the universe that you will get the help and health you need, and they let you stay in Ireland with P.
Many hugs to you and P, for plodding on even when times are rough.

Whiiizzzzzz!
Strangely burst through the door in a haze of manic-ness and crashes on the floor!
I think I must have unsubed from this thread accidently, which I seem to do more and more lately. I will read back through eventually but you seem to be in Ireland?
.
But oh God, medical assessments Terri, I feel for you.

Terri, What a wonderful thing you do to help the little boy.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that all the awful medical tests will end and that you will get the help that you need.
I will be going to see Star Trek with my sister on Bank holiday Monday and the rest of the week, I will hopefully be starting my voluntarty position at a charity shop. The last time I worked in a charity shop, was over 10 years ago.

Lady Pennywhistle - Back with a vengeance! [for a certain, limited value of Vengeance; actual amounts of Vengeance may vary] Posted May 28, 2009
That's an absolutely wonderful story.
I was trying to decide whether I should send you whatever Accumulated Stuff I already have, or wait a little bit more; I think I will not wait.
Hopefully I can send it Sunday, after doing some tedious tax stuff (I had myself listed as 'independent' a while ago, to work as a translator - which does not happen often - and that means I need to file a yearly report for them so they can see if I can be taxed. I procrastinated it till the last possible moment, so have to finish it Sunday morning. Gah!), but even if I can't/forget, I will figure out a way to do it soon.
And yes, I will also respond to that email. Sometime over the weekend, I hope. Procrastination again...
Key: Complain about this post
